Why You Should Not File Bankruptcy

A Humorous Take on Bankruptcy Myths and Realities

Yes, I am overwhelmed by debt. In fact, I feel like I’m drowning in credit card bills, final notices, collection letters, and threatening phone calls. While filing for bankruptcy could be a reasonable strategy to start fresh, there are several reasons why I believe I shouldn’t do it.

1. I love giving my money to banks!

Paying 24% interest has practically become a hobby of mine. Sure, my credit card balance is $10,000, but who wouldn’t enjoy paying $200 a month just in interest? After all, banks need my hard-earned money more than I do! I wouldn’t want to deprive them of their fancy lobby renovations or their executives’ yachts

2. I enjoy dodging bill collectors.

There’s nothing like that rush when I see an unknown number flash across my phone. Will it be another “friendly reminder” that I’m behind on my payments? It keeps life exciting, and I don’t want to take that thrill away from my day-to-day life. Bankruptcy would mean ending the suspense—and we can’t have that, can we?

3. Who needs a decent credit score anyway?

Having a low credit score builds character. It makes things interesting when I want to get a loan, rent an apartment, or apply for a job. Plus, it helps me stay self-reliant. I don’t need decent credit terms—I’d much rather live life on the edge!

4. Free credit rebuilding sounds great, but not for me.

I know that ROBERT J. ADAMS & ASSOCIATES (The Bill Slayer) enrolls his Chapter 7 in a free credit rebuilding course: aiming for a score of 720 and above in a short time. But I prefer to maintain my self-reliance with a low credit score.

5. I don’t want financial freedom. I want stress!

Who needs peace of mind when I could have sleepless nights worrying about bills and wondering if I’ll ever get out of this financial hole? Bankruptcy could provide a fresh start, but let’s be honest—who would want that?

6. My paycheck disappearing is oddly satisfying.

Wage garnishments feel like an unconventional form of contribution. Watching a portion of my income vanish before it even hits my bank account reminds me that I’m part of something bigger—even if I don’t choose who benefits from it!

7. Financial stress bonds my family!

Financial pressure isn’t just mine; it’s a family affair! The tension it creates at home is almost heartwarming. Who wouldn’t want their loved ones to share in the excitement of financial uncertainty?

8. Delaying retirement is my goal.

Why save for retirement when I could continue to pay off endless debt? I’d much prefer to work until I’m 85 just to ensure those banks keep thriving. Bankruptcy could allow me to start saving again, but that doesn’t sound as exciting!

9. Avoiding medical bills adds a challenge!

Paying those medical expenses? Who needs that? Letting them stack up is almost thrilling while I convince myself that avoiding bankruptcy makes me more responsible. After all, health concerns can wait when 24% interest is on the line!
